How Does Microneedling Work?
Microneedling is completed in a treatment room in around 30 – 60 minutes with local anesthesia or numbing cream if desired; however, patients typically report mild or no discomfort. The areas of skin being treated will be cleansed before the SkinPen handpiece is evenly passed over. A topical treatment, like growth factor serum, may be applied for deeper penetration of the nutrients into the skin. Growth factor serum acts as a healing agent, boosting collagen production and prompting cells to improve skin firmness and elasticity while rejuvenating the skin. Using growth factors to infuse the skin with nutrients is 20 – 100 times more powerful in rejuvenating the skin. A moisturizer will be massaged in along with UV protection because the treated skin will be sensitive following the procedure. You can expect results in three treatment sessions that may last up to six months.
