Pain Shouldn’t Be the End of Your Story
By Dr. Niele Maimone, DC
At Align Healing Center, our work did not begin with a trend. It began the same way so much of my work has begun over the last 26 years: by looking for better ways to help people feel better, look better, and live better lives.
That has always been my mission.
In 2018, that path became deeply personal when my best friend was struggling with rheumatoid arthritis. We began asking whether there might be a way to support true healing and reduce her dependence on medication. Since walking that road together, she has come off all medications and is now living a very full life.
That experience opened a new door for me.
As I learned more, I decided to use stem cells myself. What surprised me was not just what I hoped they might do, but the benefits I personally experienced. Over time, I came to see them as a powerful way to support the body’s healing and resilience through the aging process. Since then, I have continued to use them as part of my own wellness regimen and have incorporated them into the evolution of Align Healing Center.
Most people are not trying to be 25 forever. They simply want to stay active, move with less pain, recover more easily, think clearly, and enjoy the life they have worked so hard to build. But what I see so often is that as people age, they begin to accept joint pain, stiffness, inflammation, and slow recovery as if they are just the unavoidable price of getting older. That belief often leads to something even harder: hopelessness.
I do not believe hopelessness should be part of aging.
Why Aging Pain Deserves a Different Conversation
Yes, the body changes with time. There is wear and tear, oxidative stress, inflammation, and the effects of old injuries and daily stress that add up over the years. But as long as your body is alive, it still has the ability to heal. Sometimes it simply needs the right support, the right environment, and the right signal.
That is why I am so passionate about regenerative medicine, including stem cell therapy.
When I talk to patients about stem cells, I do it honestly. I am not interested in hype. I am interested in offering hope and thoughtful options. These therapies are designed to support the body’s own repair processes and create a better environment for healing. For the right person, that may mean support for joint pain, inflammation, recovery, function, and quality of life.
They are not a magic fix, and they are not usually a one-time answer to aging. Aging is ongoing, so it makes sense to support the body in an intentional, ongoing way too.
A More Local, More Supportive Option
One patient story has stayed with me. A man came in after retiring at 62 with a big bucket list ahead of him, but hip pain was already changing his plans. Golf no longer sounded fun. Travel felt harder than it should. He was afraid this next chapter of life would be smaller than he had imagined. After treatment, he noticed a marked difference within a week, and over time he was able to get back to living the life he had worked so hard for.
I also want people to understand that they do not need to leave the country to explore regenerative medicine and stem cell therapy. These options are available right here in Danville, in a setting where care can be more comprehensive, holistic, and supportive over time.
At Align, this is never just about one treatment. It is about helping people age with strength, movement, resilience, and hope.
